Terms and conditions

This document forms part of the rental agreement for Gildridge Estate, including the main house, associated cottages, tennis court, grounds, and other shared facilities. By proceeding with your booking, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. General Disclaimer

Guests are responsible for their own safety and that of their party. The Host accepts no liability for injuries, accidents, or property damage incurred during your stay.

Certain facilities such as the tennis court and climbing frame are shared with neighbouring properties. Activities or facility access must be requested at least 48 hours in advance to allow adequate preparation.

2. Quiet Hours

To respect neighbouring residents, quiet hours are observed from 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM daily. During this time, outdoor music and loud noise are strictly prohibited.

3. Booking and Payment

Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your stay.

Cancellations made at least 60 days before arrival will receive a 70% refund
Cancellations made within 60 days are non-refundable

The total number of guests must not exceed that specified in your booking. Exceeding this number may result in termination of your stay without refund.

4. Use of Premises

The property may only be used for residential purposes. Commercial activity, subletting, large gatherings, or parties are not permitted unless otherwise agreed.

Illegal activity on the premises is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination without refund.

5. Maintenance and Conduct

Guests must keep the property in a clean and orderly condition. Any damage, excessive mess, or rearranged furniture must be rectified before departure. Charges may apply and be deducted from your security deposit.

All waste should be disposed of following the Host’s instructions. Additional fees may apply for excess rubbish or improper disposal.

Furniture, including garden furniture, must be returned to its original location. Lights must be turned off when not in use.

6. Smoking and Fire Safety

Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises.

Log burners are not available for use due to insurance restrictions
Fireworks are strictly prohibited due to nearby animals
The tennis court floodlights are not available for use under any circumstances

7. Heating and Energy Use

The heating system is electric only. Please allow 15–20 minutes between showers and longer for baths to enable recovery of hot water.

Heating should be set no higher than 20°C, to protect the integrity of the Grade II listed property.

8. Hot Tub Guidelines

Use of the hot tub is at guests’ own risk.

Do not use the hot tub while under the influence of alcohol or substances
Children must be supervised at all times
Do not stand or sit on the cover – damage will incur a £800 replacement charge

Failure to follow hot tub rules may result in additional charges.

9. Pets

Guests are fully responsible for their pets at all times.

Pets must not be allowed on furniture or enter restricted areas
Guests will be charged for any damage or disruption caused by pets

10. Vehicles and Parking

Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk. The Host is not liable for theft, damage, or loss. Please only park in designated areas. Parking on grass or in restricted zones is strictly prohibited.

11. Inspections

The Host reserves the right to inspect the property with reasonable notice. Breaches of this agreement may result in immediate termination without refund.

12. Lost Property

Items left behind will be held for two weeks. If unclaimed, they may be disposed of or donated at the Host’s discretion.

13. Legal

This agreement is governed by the laws applicable in the location of the Premises.

In the event of legal proceedings to enforce this agreement, the Guest is responsible for any reasonable legal costs incurred by the Host.

14. Acceptance of Terms

By continuing with your booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
